Cancer doctors carrying out an op on a tumour found a gauze medical pad left under the patient's skin during an earlier procedure 19 years ago.

Sanja Krajcar, 37, had been in agony from the mysterious lump which had worked its way to the surface over two decades in Senj, Croatia.

Medics diagnosed cancer and were half way through an exploratory operation before they found the stray swab.

Furious Sanja is now suing the original medical team for negligence.
