Senior police officers are investigating claims that WPCs have been subjected to a bizarre form of sexual harassment where male colleagues secretly touch equipment they will handle with the tips of their manhood.

An officer in southern Sweden claims he and colleagues regularly touch door handles, police radio buttons, gear sticks and steering wheels in police cars to get a thrill from watching their female partners handle them.

The prank - called 'ollning' and widespread in Sweden - has been revealed by a PC calling himself Uncle Blue, reports local newspaper Kvallsposten.

Other entries in a blog - now shut down by police chiefs - include how he shook hands with the body of a man who had just killed himself, how a mentally handicapped girl tried to bed him and how it felt "damn good" to punch someone.

But chief legal official Marten Unbeck said: "In my view there is reason to believe that a crime has been committed."
