Frozen stiff

Spring may be on the way, but some parts of Europe are still clearly frozen stiff.

This eye-popping ice sculpture has been blamed for a 30 per cent rise in traffic accidents since it appeared overnight in the Polish capital, Warsaw.

Police say the 10ft high manhood is distracting commuting motorists just before a busy junction and is causing dozens of shunts every day.

"There has been a large increase in the number of accidents at this spot, especially involving woman drivers," said a police spokesman.

Now road safety killjoys plan to cut the sculpture down to size.

"It just isn't safe," said one officer.
