These little splashers are lucky to be alive after they were rescued from a flash flood - in a wash tub.

The tots and their parents were trapped on a bus in a torrential downpour that flooded a riverside road in , Baojing county, Hunan province, southern China, with nearly five feet of water in just a few minutes.

But firefighters found the babies were too small for their life jackets, normally used on adults.

"The water was rising fast so we had to improvise," explained one fireman.

"We went to the nearest house and seized their washing bowl to use as a small boat and we floated the babies back to dry land. Both of them were fine after they'd dried out a bit," he added.
