Enel to further develop wind energy projects in Romania

Michael Leidig

Enel Green Power International signed today (Weds) an accord with Export Credit Agency (EKF), part of the Danish government and with Citigroup for a 180 million Euros funding, the company informs.

The financing, spanning 12 years, will be used for the development of wind energy projects in Romania, USA and Brazil.

This financing will be used to cover part of the investments required to build and expand Enel Green Power Romania wind power plants (Moldova Noua and Corugea) so as to arrive at a total installed capacity of 118 MW.

The Italian group entered Romania’s electricity market in 2005, holding production units as well as distribution and supply activities. The incomes of the company in Romania stood at some 970 million Euros in 2011.
