12 French employees of Mood Media, an international provider of censorial marketing solutions, have been sacked because they refused to move to Romania, Le Figaro online reports today(Fri).
"I was dismissed officially on grounds of personal reasons, but this is an economic lay out, it's as simple as that", 48 year-old employee who worked 14 years with the company complained.
Nathalie Dussert says the stuff of the company had only 15 days to decide weather to move to Romania or lose their jobs.
"Initially they told us that we are keeping our wages but when we arrived in Romania , they made a new work contract for only 632 Euros a month without medical insurance", the woman said. She will sue the company together with fellow employees.
The company has 162 employees in France. According to the law director of the company Bruno Besson, the legislation doesn't allow the economic lay out in the case of the transfer of activity in another country. "If an employee accepts to move together with the company, then he or she will get the same salary paid by the Romanian company".
The representative of the Union, Alain Hinot said that the company tried to avoid putting in place a plan to save jobs, because it would have been more difficult and presented the offer as a transfer not a de-localisation.
