The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan is hoping to be able to give fans a sweet sound at her upcoming concerts after organisers revealed she had asked for honey to be imported from New Zealand to help her with a sore throat.

The singer told concert organisers in Romania that she needed Manuka honey that comes from New Zealand for their first concert when it takes place in Bucharest on 20 July.

Local organisers said that she also wanted six types of organic fruit juices, English tea. And the green-conscious Irish singer said she also wanted fresh milk - but not in cartons.

In the last month, the band had to cancel concerts in France and Italy after it was confirmed that Dolores was suffering from a throat infection including laryngitis.
