Sundance Channel to be launched in Romania

The American film channel will also be available in Hungary and the Netherlands in the coming months.

The film channel has been carried by UPC’s DTH platform in the country (UPC Direct) since last year and is also available on UPC’s Freesat in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Launched by Robert Redford, the founder of Sundance Independent Film Festival, the channel will offer Romanian viewers a wide range of independent films, documentaries and original shows.

It will be distributed by cable via UPC, one of the main cable companies in Romania. Currently UPC Romania has over 1,122,000 subscribers in 200 cities countrywide.
