€Four-million contract for renovation of Bucharest´s historical centre

The Bucharest mayoralty will pay nearly four million Euros for restoration of the basic infrastructure in Bucharest’s historical centre, it emerged today (Tues).

The mayoralty will hold an auction in early April for a contract for the work in pilot zone A of Bucharest's old centre. The contract will run for four years and be awarded to the lowest bidder.

Bucharest's downtown area Lipscani has been under renovation for years, but work has proceeded slowly, and many historic buildings are close to collapse after having been deserted.
